Anthropic expands AI for Science
A wider research network across 20 organizations.
On October 28, Anthropic highlighted 20 foundations, institutions and research groups in an expansion of AI for Science. The program provides free Claude credits for high-impact scientific projects.

Its support now reaches beyond individual researchers through institutional partnerships. The announcement describes work on open datasets, software and shared standards, including a research preview of a standard for AI-operated laboratory instruments.
Editorial perspective: useful AI progress also depends on access to research tools and reusable resources. This announcement describes a support program and ongoing collaborations, rather than a new consumer model or a verified scientific breakthrough.
