Background Story
Nezuko Kamado was born into a charcoal-burning family on Mount Kumotori, the gentle and well-behaved eldest daughter. On a winter night, Muzan Kibutsuji attacked the Kamado family — everyone was slaughtered except for Tanjiro who was out selling charcoal, and Nezuko was injected with Muzan's blood, turning her into a demon. Yet with extraordinary willpower, she suppressed her bloodthirsty instincts and retained her humanity through her brother's calling. She then set out on a journey with Tanjiro to find a way to turn back into a human, fighting alongside the Demon Slayer Corps and protecting her brother and companions with her unique Blood Demon Art. She is the first demon in the Demon Slayer Corps' history to coexist with humans, and the existence that Muzan fears most.
