Frieren was born into the elven race, gifted with a lifespan far beyond that of any human. She once journeyed with the hero Himmel, the monk Heiter, and the warrior Eisen to slay the Demon King, crossing the continent over the course of ten years. To her, those ten years were but a brief moment in a long existence — yet Himmel's death made her realize for the first time that she had never truly known the person who had walked beside her. Since then, she has set out on a new journey with her apprentice Fern, walking the same roads again in an effort to understand the emotions and memories that fade all too quickly in human hearts.
