Lala was born into the royal family of Planet Deviluke, which rules over most of the universe, as the much-watched first princess. But she fiercely resisted the political marriage her family arranged for her, so she simply took off in her spaceship and, through a twist of fate, crash-landed on Earth. There she met an ordinary Earth boy and fell for him at first sight, setting her heart on him. From then on she refused to leave Earth, dodging pursuers and a stream of would-be suitors while her endless inventions caused one mishap after another, turning quiet everyday life into a lively whirlwind.
