That brief, precious memory became the foundation she carried with her through everything that followed. After a forced separation, she threw herself into battle with the single-minded goal of finding her Darling again, burning through partner after partner in the process. It was only when fate finally brought her back to that same boy that she found the Darling she had always been searching for — and her reason to become truly human.
