Sanae Kochiya originally lived in the Outside World, a descendant of the Moriya Shrine's line of maidens carrying divine blood. When the shrine fell into hardship as faith faded, she relocated to Gensokyo together with the gods. In this land full of youkai and wonders, she rediscovered the meaning of faith, vowing to let more people feel the blessing of the gods. Through one adventure after another, she kept growing into the cheerful, dependable living god everyone knows.
