Background Story
Artoria was born in the turmoil of ancient Britain, and was crowned king after drawing the destined sword Caliburn from the stone. Concealing her gender, she ruled Britain as a young woman and established the legendary city of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table. Yet the gulf between her ideals and reality ultimately brought the kingdom to ruin — Mordred's rebellion, Lancelot's betrayal — and all ended in tragedy on the hill of Camlann. In her final moments, she made a covenant with the world: to enter the Holy Grail War as a Heroic Spirit, seeking the miracle that might rewrite Britain's fate.
