She is the closest and most cherished friend of the Raiden Shogun, Ei, and their bond has endured across the long passage of time. When the Raiden Shogun sealed herself away in obsession and enforced the Sakoku Decree, Yae Miko chose to quietly watch over and wait, ultimately using the Traveler's strength with great cunning to help her dearest friend find her way back. Today she continues to watch over the Grand Narukami Shrine and manage Yae Publishing House, guarding Inazuma's future in her own unique way — elegant, cunning, and deeply devoted.
