Kael Nova was born to a frontier pioneer family on the edge of the stars, traveling between star regions aboard trading ships from a young age. A deep-space accident took his first captain—and his mentor—from him, and the cybernetic light-vein on his temple is the price he paid in that rescue. From then on he vowed to become a commander who could shield everyone. After years of hardship he was entrusted with the captaincy of Dawnbreaker, taking up the mission to explore uncharted stars while guarding every heart aboard that longs for the way home.
